New Virtual Programming

Starting Aug 17, 2020, Challenger will start offering a variety of virtual STEM programs. All programs are created with the same spirit and goals of our traditional hands-on in-person mission simulations and STEM programs.

These are programs designed to fit the programming needs of:

  • Schools [in the classroom or students at home]
  • Organizations [i.e Boys & Girls Clubs, 4-H, ROTC and more]
  • Scout Troops
  • Afterschool Groups
  • Elementary Daycare and Daycamps
  • Homeschool Co-ops
  • and more!

Most programs are adaptable for Challenger to connect virtually with your group participants in their individual homes or together in a COVID safe setup.

Required: Access to internet and a device such as a smartphone/tablet/computer. Challenger currently utilizes Zoom but can usually adapt to your school’s/organization’s webconference tool of choice.

Challenger Virtual Programs

These virtual programs bring the power of mission simulation to your classroom or students’ homes. Your virtual field trip is an interactive, highly-engaging, digital experience that immerses students in a live event, organically highlighting the importance and application of math, science, language and essentials skills like teamwork, problem-solving and communication.

Destination Mars Mission

We need to build a base on one of the Red Planet’s moons, Deimos or Phobos, that will allow us to send a spacecraft to the surface of Mars and back in the fastest and safest way possible.

Grades: 4, 5, 6
Duration: 1 hour [can adjust for class period]
Cost: $250

Destination Moon Mission

Student teams in Mission Control have a critical job: initiate the launch of New Glenn into orbit to land Blue Moon safely on the lunar surface. While in orbit, teams monitor for potentially dangerous space weather and space debris, conduct safety checks on the spacecraft systems, deploy and monitor satellites, and launch payloads.

Grades: 7, 8, 9
Duration: 1.5 hours [can adjust for class period]
Cost: $300
