Outreach

If you are looking for fun events that are rich with science content, the Challenger Learning Center of Maine provides exciting programs for scouts, PTO/PTAs, homeschool groups, ROTCs – you name it! We offer a wide range of STEM Programs, designed to meet your needs. We will work with you to find a program that accommodates the size of your group and the size of your budget! Here are a couple examples of the kinds of programs that we offer:

Afterschool:

Our 2017 Spring Afterschool LEGO club sessions are HERE!.

Challenger LEGO club combines the excitement of LEGO creation with engineering fun, group theme builds and more.  Participants will even use Challenger’s LEGO WeDo kits to build a LEGO robot.

The LEGO club is open to new and returning students in grades 2-5.  The cost is $50/ session to be paid upon acceptance confirmation.  Club meetings will be at the Challenger Learning Center of Maine [30 Venture Way, Bangor, ME].  Club meetings are on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 PM.

Spring Session: March 1, 8, 15, 22, 2017 [Snow Day: Mar 29, 2017]

Spring Session builds include:

  • Maine Scene community build
  • Contraption reaction build
  • Flying airplane LEGO WeDo robotics
  • Spinning Top LEGO WeDo robotics

After applying, you will receive an email confirming if space is available for your child.  Attending participants will then receive further details on preparation for club meetings, payment instruction, and medical/photo consent forms by email.

April 1, 2017: Exploration Lab – You are in control with mission control!  Challenge yourself and work as a team with this fun hands-on sapce program at the Challenger Learning Center.  This is an introductory “try-it-out” experience.

April 1, 2017: Rendezvous with a Comet – Carry out a mission for an out-of-this-world experience!  You and your team willb e astronauts, engineers, and mission controllers solving real-world probelms and sharing the thrill of discovery on a mission to space.  Badge link: Night Owl
