A Challenger Maine experience is more than a field trip or computer game, it’s an off-site laboratory.
When students become astronauts and engineers at Challenger Maine, they solve real-world problems.
At the core of our center is the five-room simulator:
BRIEFING ROOM is used to brief and debrief students on their mission.
MISSION CONTROL is patterned after modern spaceflight control rooms.
TRANSPORT ROOM is modeled as a space vehicle interior used to “launch” students to space.
AIRLOCK is the transition between the Transport Room and the Spacecraft.
SPACECRAFT replicates the interior of a modern space station.
