Blast Off Bash is coming to Bangor
Get ready for a high flying week of rocket launches at the Blast Off Bash, a four day celebration of creativity, engineering, and pure launch day excitement!
Here’s how it works:
Register ahead of time to pick up your rocket kit, build it at home, and come ready to launch… OR grab a kit on site and build your rocket right at the event, with help from the Challenger staff!

Take-Home Rocket Kit Ticket – $15
Receive an Estes Cosmic Ray Rocket Kit before the event and build it at home. After registering, you'll receive an email with information about rocket kit pickup locations, dates, and times. Bring your completed rocket to your selected launch window and get ready for liftoff!
Build-On-Site Rocket Kit Ticket – $15
Prefer to build with us? We'll provide the rocket kit during your selected launch window and our STEM educators and volunteers will help guide you through the building process before launch activities begin.
Each ticket includes:
• One Estes Cosmic Ray Rocket Kit
• Participation in Blast Off Bash launch activities
• Hands-on STEM learning experiences
• Support from Challenger Learning Center of Maine staff and volunteers
Please note:
• Each participant launching a rocket must have their own ticket.
• Children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Launch activities are weather and field-condition dependent.
• Tickets are valid only for the specific date and launch window selected during registration.

Our Rocket of Choice
Get ready for liftoff with the Estes Cosmic Ray Rocket Kit. This beginner-friendly model rocket is designed to make STEM learning fun and accessible. With its easy snap-together assembly, colorful teal and gold design, and real parachute recovery system, the Cosmic Ray gives future engineers and astronauts the chance to explore the science of aerodynamics, propulsion, and flight while watching their rockets soar hundreds of feet into the sky. Join the Challenger Learning Center of Maine for an unforgettable day of discovery and rocket-powered fun!
