Perseverance is Heading Mars!

Join us for the Mars Rover Pre-Launch (Virtual) Party! Challenger Learning Center of Maine is hosting a virtual event to start the countdown to the launch of NASA’s new 2020 rover, Perseverance!
Learn about the mission and complete a Mars Lander Engineering Challenge designed for all ages 5 years and up.
The program will include time to learn about the Mars 2020 mission for the rover named Perseverance. Challenger staff will also lead a NASA engineering design challenge for landing safely on the surface of Mars!
Session cost: FREE
A registration will include a zoom link. Participants will be responsible for gathering the recommended list of supplies for the Mars Landing System of the design & build portion of this program.
Materials from home you will need to gather pre-event:
-Any of the following like items: Newspapers/plastic bag(s)/tin foil, tissue paper, handkerchielf
-roll of string or twine or dental floss or the like
-tape
-scissors
-One of the following: a small LEGO rover you bild ahead; a Duplo brick, ; a wooden block; a box of raisins; a single-serve applesauce cup [this will be the object you are trying to land safely]
Required:
Access to Zoom (smartphone, tablet, computer) & common materials gathered at home for build activity.

Follow up:
After completing the online payment registration below, you will be emailed a receipt confirmation that will include your zoom link. A second email reminder will be sent just prior to the event. This second email will be from a challenger team member [an @astronaut.org email]. For some participants, this email may automatically go to a spam folder.
