Overview:
5-Day program gives campers the opportunity to explore many aspects of astronaut training.  They will use teamwork to test mental agility, plan meals suitable for off-planet consumption, and learn skills that are needed for survival.  Campers will construct a Mars habitat prototype, re-create the Apollo 13 engineering challenge, and prepare for a live web-conference with NASA.  They will learn about and engage in pre-mission astronaut traditions such as a pre-flight press conference.  Campers will also get to “fly” two missions in Challenger Maine’s exclusive Mission Control, Transporter and Space Lab simulators.  Off-site day trip to the University of Maine’s world-class research and project-based labs, and Emera Astronomy Center planetarium are also part of this phenomenal camp experience!
