Cole Scholarship

Thanks to the generous support of the Cole Land Transportation Museum in Bangor, Maine, the Challenger Learning Center of Maine is proud to offer need-based scholarships for select Challenger summer camps.

Scholarships cover one camp week per student. Once your application is submitted, a member of the Challenger Learning Center team will follow up via email within 1–3 business days (Monday–Friday). If you have questions in the meantime, please contact us at contact@astronaut.org.

Priority for scholarship funding will be given to first-time applicants. Scholarships are intended for students attending one week of camp who have demonstrated a financial need.

Scholarship Requirements

Students who receive a scholarship must meet the following requirements:

• Thank You Note: Students are required to mail a handwritten thank-you note to the Cole Land Transportation Museum, sharing highlights from their camp experience. Notes must be mailed within 7 days of the final day of camp.

• Attendance: Full camp attendance is required. Due to expected waitlists, students who do not attend without a valid excuse will not be eligible for future Challenger camp scholarships.

• Cancellations: Camp spots are limited and cancellations are discouraged. If cancellation is necessary, it must be made at least two weeks prior to the first day of camp.

• Museum Visit Encouraged: Families of scholarship recipients are strongly encouraged to visit the Cole Land Transportation Museum at 405 Perry Rd, Bangor, ME 04401 by November 11, 2026. Admission is free for children and students.
