Code It. Build It. Launch It. Space STEM Starts Here!
Hands-on STEM adventures for young explorers, code, build, and launch into space science.
Get ready for an exciting double dose of discovery at the Challenger Learning Center of Maine! Our Robots in Space and Rockets in Space programs invite young learners to explore the fundamentals of robotics, coding, and engineering through playful, hands-on activities. From experimenting with robot arms and circuits to designing and launching 3D-printed rockets, students will learn by doing, sparking curiosity, creativity, and confidence in STEM.
Robots in Space is an engaging introduction to robotics and coding for young learners.
Children will explore basic programming using tactile tools, color-based coding, and
hands-on experimentation. Activities also include working with robotic arms, simple
electrical circuits, and creative building to spark curiosity and problem-solving skills.
In Rockets in Space students will design, build, and launch 3D-printed rockets powered
by compressed air while learning about testing, iteration, and tool use. The program
includes hands-on exploration inside our Orbital Science Laboratory simulator, and an
outdoor launch.
